IATA - Dangerous Goods Courses by Air

Dangerous Goods Awareness: 1 Day Initial / Refresher

Dangerous Goods Awareness level training is a legal requirement in accordance with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation), IATA (International Air Transport Association) and IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) for staff of operators and agencies acting on behalf of operators performing the functions of ground handling, storage and loading of cargo, in the transportation of hazardous goods by air.

A legal requirement for:

  • Staff of freight forwards involved in processing cargo (other than dangerous goods). 

  • Staff of freight forwarders involved in the handling, storage and loading of dangerous goods.

  • Operator’s and ground handling agent’s staff accepting cargo (other than dangerous goods).

  • Operators’ and ground handling agent’s staff responsible for the handling, storage and loading of cargo and baggage. 

Dangerous Goods Initial / Refresher: 3 Days Initial & 2 Days Refresher

In the transportation of hazardous goods by air and in accordance with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation), IATA (International Air Transport Association) and IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) it is a legal requirement for the personnel to have completed a 3-day Initial course in Dangerous Goods to ensure that they have the ability to recognise and the know-how to document dangerous goods destined for air transport, to ensure that the goods are properly labelled and handled in the freight process. Recurrent training must take place within 24 months of previous training to ensure that the knowledge is current.

A legal requirement for:

  • Shippers and persons undertaking the responsibilities of shippers and packers.

  • Staff of freight forwarders involved in the handling, storage and loading of dangerous goods.

  • Operator’s and ground handling agent’s staff accepting dangerous goods.

All course fees must be paid in advance. Payment can be made by Direct Debit or Cheque: –

A cancellation fee (100%) of the course fee will be applied to cancellations made less than 1 week before start of the course.
